asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay in paying a contractor (details supplied) in County Waterford for the provision of a national school at Killea.

The delay in paying a contractor for work on the erection of Killea national school, County Waterford is due to staffing difficulties in the regional office of the Office of Public Works. Pending detailed examination of the contractor's final account and completion of certain outstanding items of work a substantial payment will be made to the contractor.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay in paying a contractor (details supplied) in County Kilkenny for work carried out on the national school at Slieverue, County Kilkenny.

The delay in paying a contractor for extension works at Slieverue national school is partly due to the failure of the contractor to complete outstanding items of work and to submit a final account and partly to staffing difficulties in the regional office of the Office of Public Works. However a substantial interim payment will shortly be made to the contractor.

asked the Minister for Finance when work will commence on the construction of the new primary school at Innishannon, County Cork.

A contract was placed on 20 October 1981 for the proposed extension to Innishannon national school, County Cork and it is hoped that work will commence shortly.
