Vol. 330 No. 12

Social Welfare (Temporary Provisions) Bill, 1981: Order for Second Stage.

Bill entitled an Act to provide for an increase in respect of one week in the month of December, 1981, of pensions, certain allowances and certain benefits under the Social Welfare (Consolidation) Act, 1981.

When is it proposed to take the Second Stage?

I move: That the Second Stage be taken on tomorrow, Wednesday, 18 November 1981.

In view of the fact that we forced the Government to do this, we have great pleasure in agreeing.

Fianna Fáil did not provide any money for this in the Estimates.

(Interruptions.)

There was no money provided in the Estimates for the old people at Christmas. That shows the depth of Fianna Fáil's conviction in that matter.

The Minister should restrain himself.

Question put and agreed to.
