Vol. 331 No. 2

Written Answers. - Youth Employment Schemes.

622.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will give details of the expenditure of £200,000 in the Youth Employment Service Scheme and the Youth Employment Enterprise Scheme; if allocations have been made from either scheme; and if he will give details of applications received and amounts expended.

The Youth Employment Services Scheme and the Youth Employment Enterprise Scheme will be administered by the proposed Youth Employment Agency, under the aegis of the Minister for Labour. The Bill to establish the agency was introduced in the Dáil on 12 November 1981. While a number of inquiries have been received by my office, no applications have yet been received. It is hoped that the Youth Employment Agency will be in a position to invite applications under these schemes in the near future.
