Vol. 331 No. 3

Written Answers. - Health Projects.

561.

asked the Minister for Health arising from her statement on the Supplementary Estimate for her Department if she will list the capital projects approved by her predecessor which were stopped in order to affect a saving of £2.5 million on sub-head K of the 1981 Vote; and the stage at which each project was stopped.

Following the Government review of the capital programme in July last, in the light of the serious economic situation, the following capital projects had to be stopped: New Health Centre at Rowlagh, Clondalkin, Co. Dublin; New Health Centre at Ballybrack, Co. Dublin; Operating theatre and post-mortem room at County Hospital, Tullamore, Co. Offaly; Community Care Centre and Office, Tralee, Co. Kerry; Orthopaedic operating theatre suite at Merlin Park Regional Hospital, Galway; Group Home for the mentally handicapped at Belmullet, Co. Mayo; Development of accommodation for the mentally handicapped at St. Joseph's, Kilcornan, Co. Galway.

These projects were all at tender stage.
