asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if his Department will reconnect a telephone service for a person (details supplied) in County Meath; and, if not, why.

It is unlikely that it will be possible to provide service for about a year. The linework used previously to provide service has since been allocated to another applicant. The existing linework will have to be strengthened before service can be provided for the applicant in question.
