Vol. 331 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Van Modification.

18.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the amount his Department are spending on modifying their fleet of Dodge commer vans to make them suitable for service with the Dublin motorised section of the Post Office.

Three vehicles are being modified on a trial basis at present at a cost of £137.21 per vehicle and modification of the remainder will be undertaken in the light of the results of the trials.

Why is the Minister of State not seeking to have the modifications done by the Talbot Motor Company, who admitted that the design of the vehicles was defective?

That has already been brought to my attention and is being considered.
