asked the Minister for the Environment if he approves of Galway County Council's ten year plan for the improvement of main roads in Connemara; and if he will arrange for the programme of work which commenced last year to be continued.

The planning and execution of improvement works on such roads are matters wholly within the responsibility of Galway County Council subject to the financial resources available to them. The council's programme of such works does not require my approval.
