Vol. 331 No. 6

Written Answers - Lost Letter.

601.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason he has not replied to a registered letter posted to him at Galway General Post Office on 13 July 1981 by a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

It would seem from information furnished by the Deputy that the person addressed her registered letter to Aire an Roinn Airgeadais, 51 Faiche Stiabhna, Baile Atha Cliath 2. The letter was delivered to the office of the Minister for Finance and signed for there. There is no trace of the letter there now and in view of the fact that the Deputy made representations to the office of the Minister of State it is assumed that the contents were discovered to be relevant to the Office of Public Works and sent to that office. However there is no record of it having being received in that office and I can only assume that it was mislaid en route.

Any inconvenience caused to the person concerned is regretted and if the person supplies the Minister of State with the details of the query, he will have it examined immediately. His address is: Oifig an Aire Stáit ag an Roinn Airgeadais, 51 Faiche Stiabhna, Baile Atha Cliath 2.
