Tenders for Edenderry sewerage scheme, stage 3 are under consideration in my Department. I am not as yet in a position to say when approval will issue to the local authority.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will indicate the up-to-date position on the sanctioning of the proposed improvement scheme for the Portroe water supply, Nenagh, County Tipperary, as submitted by North Tipperary County Council.
I have recently approved the preliminary proposals submitted by North Tipperary County Council for the Nenagh regional water supply scheme, and the preparation of contract documents for stage 1 of the scheme. Stage 2 provides for serving the Portroe area. As an interim measure, proposals have been submitted for augmenting the Portroe scheme in conjunction with a group scheme proposal. Discussions are being arranged with the council at technical level on the interim proposals.
