Vol. 331 No. 11

Written Answers. - County Galway's Roads.

409.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware of the serious deterioration in the condition of road surfaces on non-county roads in County Galway; and if he will allocate additional funds for local improvement schemes there.

The introduction of the Western Package made it possible to increase grant allocations to the "Western" counties for the improvement of non-public roads, and the allocation to Galway county was increased from £171,000 in 1980 to £228,000 in 1981. The level of allocations which may be made for 1982 has not yet been determined.
