Vol. 331 No. 11

Written Answers. - Galway Customs Clearance.

596.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will establish a customs clearance compound in Galway city as suggested by Galway Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The provision of a customs clearance compound is not a matter for my Department or for the Office of the Revenue Commissioners. However, if the establishment of such a compound was envisaged the prior approval of the Revenue Commissioners would be required. No application has been received by the Revenue Commissioners for the approval of a customs clearance compound in Galway city.
