Vol. 331 No. 11

Written Answers. - County Dublin Traffic.

651.

asked the Minister for the Environment the action he proposes to take to improve the traffic situation on Sandyford Road, County Dublin.

As the road in question is not part of the national road network, the planning and execution of works on it are matters wholly within the discretion of Dublin County Council and the cost of such works normally would fall to be financed from the council's own resources supplemented by the block grant allocated annually by my Department.

Outline proposals for the improvement of the road together with a request for a special road grant towards the cost of the work were received in my Department on 16 October 1981 and are being examined.
