Vol. 331 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Agricultural Imports.

2.

asked the Taoiseach the value of agricultural imports in 1980; and the estimated value for 1981.

In the official trade statistics imports are not analysed according to economic sector of origin. However, import data are available for the category "Food and live animals". In the period January-October 1981 (latest available) imports under this category were valued at £638.9 million compared with £466.5 million in the same period of 1980. Comparable imports in the calendar year 1980 amounted to £573.0 million.
