asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath will qualify for free telephone rental as he is in receipt of an Old IRA pension; and when service will be provided.

The question of eligibility for free telephone rental for this applicant is a matter for the Minister for Social Welfare in the first instance.

The applicant has been invited to sign an agreement. Service will be provided within about three months after the agreement has been signed.
