Vol. 331 No. 12

Written Answers. - Cattle Export Subsidies.

202.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the amount paid in subsidies for the past three years to exporters of live cattle to third countries; and if he will give a breakdown of the amounts paid to individual companies or dealers.

In accordance with EEC regulations refunds financed by the Community are paid on exports of live cattle and beef to third countries. The amounts paid on live cattle exports in recent years were: 1979, £17,751,400; 1980, £47,045,000; 1981 (to 9 Dec.), £64,371,700.

It is not the practice to give details of the amounts paid to individual exporters.
