321.

asked the Minister for Industry and Energy the positions previously held by non-established civil servants appointed by him and his Minister of State since 30 June 1981.

I appointed Mr. Alan Gray as my economic adviser. Mr. Gray previously served as an economist in the Irish Goods Council. I appointed Ms. Yvonne Murphy as my special adviser. She previously served as a journalist in RTE.

I appointed Ms. Frances Kelly, Ms. Helen O'Gara-Connolly and Ms. Elena McLennan as my personal secretarial assistants. Ms. Kelly served in a similar capacity for me when I was Minister for Labour from 1973 until 1977. Ms. O'Gara-Connolly also served in a similar capacity in the Government Information Service. Ms. McLennan was a student teacher. Mr. Walter Morgan was appointed personal assistant to the Minister of State at my Department. Mr. Morgan is a retired railway official.
