Vol. 331 No. 12

Written Answers. - Mallow (Cork) Workshop for Mentally Handicapped.

450.

asked the Minister for Health if she will sanction a special grant to the Association of the Parents of the Mildly Mentally Handicapped, Mallow, County Cork, for the construction of a training school and sheltered workshop which are needed urgently.

The feasibility of a proposal by the Mallow and District Association of Parents and Friends of Mentally Handicapped Children to set up a workshop for the mentally handicapped is at present being examined by the Southern Health Board.

If the need for such a workshop is established, the question of grant assistance will be considered as sympathetically as possible in the light of the total capital resources available to me for new building projects.
