Vol. 331 No. 12

Written Answers. - Medical Card Cancellation.

475.

asked the Minister for Health if she is aware that a farm labourer (details supplied) in County Kildare who is trying to support his wife and child on the basic rate of pay, has had his general medical services card cancelled; and if she will make immediate arrangements to ensure that such persons are not disqualified.

Medical cards are reviewed from time to time. In the case in question it was found on review that income was above the guidelines drawn up to assist chief executive officers of health boards in determining eligibility. Hence this medical card was withdrawn.

Questions Nos. 476 and 477 postponed.
