asked the Minister for Finance the up-to-date position in relation to the drainage of the Mulcair river.

asked the Minister for Finance when the design and plans for the drainage of the Mulcair river will be finalised and exhibited.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 555 and 556 together.

The preparation of a drainage scheme for the Mulcair catchment under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945 is proceeding. However, I am not in a position to say when the design will be completed or when a scheme might commence.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will consider the possibility of providing more funds for drainage.

The capital allocations for 1982 have not yet been settled. I cannot say at this time what provision for drainage works will be made in the coming year.

andMr. Leyden asked the Minister for Finance when work will commence on the drainage of the Boyle River.

Pending the allocation of funds for capital projects during 1982 I am not in a position to say when construction works on the Boyle drainage scheme will commence.
