Following are details of the positions, previously held by non-established civil servants appointed in my Department since 30 June 1981: (a) of the two personal assistants appointed in my private office, one was previously employed on secretarial and documentation research work funded by the European Parliament and the other was employed as secretary to the general secretary of the Labour Party. (b) A cleaner appointed in a temporary whole-time capacity was previously employed at various petrol stations. A service attendant, who has been similarly appointed, was previously employed as a cleaner with the RDS.
