Vol. 331 No. 12

Written Answers. - County Offaly Sewerage Scheme.

590.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will approve the tender for Coolagarry sewerage scheme, Walsh Island, County Offaly.

In July 1981 Offaly County Council advised my Department that the council had accepted a tender for the mechanical and electrical plant for Coolagarry sewerage scheme. The council were advised in August 1981 that the acceptance of this tender was premature as no contract documents had been approved.

Contract documents for the civil works submitted in October 1981 take account of the proposed mechanical and electrical plant and are under consideration in my Department. I am not at present in a position to say when approval will issue to the local authority. There are no proposals before my Department for the provision of a sewerage scheme to serve Walsh Island.
