There are ten national schools and three comprehensive schools in the Ballymun area.

Detailed information as requested by the Deputy is given in the case of the national schools in the form of a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, will be circulated with the Official Report. There were no days lost because of a breakdown in the heating system in the case of the comprehensive schools in the period in question.

There is one all Irish national school and nine other national schools in the Ballymun area. These latter nine schools are located on four different sites.

The all-Irish School (Scoil an tSeachtar Laoch) is housed in temporary accommodation in Glasnevin while building work is in progress on the permanent school building.
