The introduction of any system of registration of security firms raises issues of considerable difficulty, the nature of which was outlined by my predecessor in reply to a Parliamentary Question by the Deputy on 23 October 1979. There has been no change in the situation in the intervening period and, as of now, I have no proposals to introduce legislation for the regulation or control of the private security industry.
