asked the Minister for Health the present guidelines on incomes for a general medical services card; if these guidelines will be increased; if so, the operative date; and if she will give details of the new guidelines.

The income guidelines which are used by the chief executive officers of the health boards to assist in determining eligibility for medical cards have recently been reviewed and have been revised with effect from 1 January 1982. The revised guidelines are as follows:
