Vol. 332 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Roscommon School Acting Principal Teacher.

357.

asked the Minister for Education if his Department employs an acting principal teacher at Carrick national school, Ballinlough, County Roscommon.

The Rules and Regulations for National Schools provide that a teacher, on completion of the maximum period of sick-leave allowable with pay, may be granted an extra period of sick-leave, not exceeding six months, without pay. In such case a temporary teacher may be appointed in his/her place.

The principal teacher of Carrick national school has been granted leave of absence accordingly. It is understood that the board of management have appointed an assistant teacher in the school to carry out the duties of the principal in his absence.
