There are no proposals for local authority housing schemes for Sligo Corporation, Sligo County Council or Leitrim County Council awaiting my approval. Under devolved procedures local authorities may plan and initiate any scheme of 60 houses or less without my prior approval having regard to the housing needs in their functional area, the capital resources available and provided the layout plans and specification have been cleared with my Department's inspector for the area, and the unit cost has been agreed to by my Department.
