Vol. 333 No. 1

Message from the President.

A message has been received from the President stating that the Supreme Court has decided that the Housing Private Rented Dwellings Bill, 1981, is repugnant to the Constitution and accordingly he has declined to sign the Bill.

I am reliably informed that some Deputies were not in the House when the doors were locked for this afternoon's vote and that they entered through the doors of the Press Gallery. Is this allowed? I remember one occasion when I was unfortunately locked out of this Chamber but I was not aware there was a back entrance. If I had been so aware I could have used it.

(Interruptions.)

All I am asking is that the Ceann Comhairle have this matter investigated and let Deputies know if this is in order.

I saw the Deputy coming in the door——

Deputy Andrews came in the wrong door a little over a week ago and that is why he was not mentioned here this afternoon.

I was not aware that that happened and I will have the matter investigated.

Will you inform the House?

Yes.

The Dáil adjourned at 9.30 p.m. until 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday, 23 March 1982.
