Vol. 333 No. 4

Written Answers. - Defence Forces, New married Quarters.

200.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will give details of the number of new married quarters to be provided for the defence forces in 1982.

The provision for such quarters in the Defence Estimate for 1982 is £0.575 million. It is proposed to use this sum to meet the cost of completing twelve new quarters at Cathal Brugha Barracks. Dublin, as well as the cost of the planning and initial development of new quarters at that barracks, the Curragh Camp and Collins Barracks, Cork. The provision includes sums retained against satisfactory completion of the new houses at Kildare (14) and Galway (20).

The scheme being planned for the Curragh Camp will comprise 37 houses. The number of quarters to be erected at Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, and Collins Barracks, Cork, has yet to be determined.
