Vol. 333 No. 9

Written Answers. - Dublin Pedestrian Crossing.

191.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware of the anxiety of the board of management and parents, St. Vincent's primary school, Glasnevin, Dublin 9, concerning the lack of pedestrian facilities at the school which caters for over 1,000 pupils; and if, in view of a number of recent accidents, he will consider ensuring that appropriate improvements to the facilities are carried out there for the children.

Responsibility for providing pedestrian facilities in this area would be a matter for Dublin Corporation, acting with the consent or at the request of the Garda Commissioner. I understand that, following recent representations, the corporation's traffic study group will again be considering the adequacy of pedestrian facilities at this location.
