Almost 700 applications for capital grant assistance, including an application from the Imaal Hall Committee, were received under my recreational ment's community, youth, recreational and employment programme. All funds placed at my Department's disposal for the purposes of this programme were fully committed by the former Minister of State and the Imaal Hall Committee was not nominated for assistance by him. There are no funds currently available to me of which I might make a capital grant available to the Imaal Hall Committee.

asked the Minister for Education if he will make a grant available to Newcastle Community Hall Committee, County Wicklow towards the cost of providing a community centre.
My Department have received from this committee an application for grant-aid under their youth employment scheme. The case is being investigated at present and pending the outcome of that investigation, I am not in a position to make any statement regarding the provision of a grant.
