The number of larcenies of vehicles and the numbers recovered in each of the past ten years are set out in the tabular statement hereunder. The statement also sets out the numbers of unauthorised takings of vehicles because in most cases what are commonly referred to as larcenies of cars are not larcenies in the legal sense but unauthorised takings.
