Vol. 334 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Advertising Costs.

1.

asked the Taoiseach the estimated cost of his Department's advertising in all local and national newspapers for each of the past three years.

The amount of money spent by my Department on this type of advertising was as follows: 1979, £35,395.48; 1980, £2,758.78; 1981, £892.10.

Was it the same agency which was involved in all these expenditures?

I have not that information. However, I can give the Deputy an outline of what was involved. The major sum in 1979 of £35,000-odd was in connection with the constitutional amendment and the expenditure in 1980 was almost entirely concerned with the advertising for the post of Manager of the National Concert Hall. The 1981 amount was advertising telephone numbers.
