Vol. 334 No. 7

Written Answers. - Palmerstown (Dublin) Strike.

794.

asked the Minister for Education if he will make a statement outlining the facts of the strike which is delaying construction work on Palmerstown community school, County Dublin; if he will outline the present position and the efforts being made to end the strike; whether the proposed opening date of 1 September, 1982 will still be met; if not, the arrangements being made to provide for the students due to start at that time; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The dispute which has stopped work on the Palmerstown Community School site has been referred to the Labour Court by agreement between the contractor and the union concerned. An early hearing of the case has been arranged. In the event of the school not being ready to accept pupils next September, arrangements have been made for the provision of temporary alternative accommodation in the local primary school.
