asked the Minister for Education the steps he proposes to take to alleviate the serious shortage of accommodation for intending pupils at Cloghroe national school, County Cork.

My Department are at present considering the long-term accommodation requirements of Cloghroe national school, County Cork having regard to the proposed development of the area in general. The school authorities will be informed of the Department's decision as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position of the proposed new school or extension of the existing school at Dripsey, County Cork.

Sketch plans for the extension of Dripsey national school have been approved by my Department and a grant has been sanctioned towards the cost. The further planning arrangements are a matter for the Commissioners of Public Works.

asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position in relation to the proposed extension to Blarney boys national school, County Cork.

Sketch plans for an extension to Blarney boys' national school have been approved. When agreement has been reached concerning the local contribution, a grant towards the cost will be sanctioned and the further planning arrangements may then be undertaken by the school authorities' architect, working in consultation with the Commissioners of Public Works.

asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position in relation to Firmount new national school, County Cork.

A grant has been sanctioned by my Department towards the cost of the proposed new school at Firmount, County Cork.

I understand from the Commissioners of Public Works who are responsible for the arrangements for planning the project that working drawings have been completed and that a bill of quantities is being prepared.
