Vol. 334 No. 8

Written Answers. - Pupil-Teacher Ratio.

738.

asked the Minister for Education if he will in cases where it is intended to reduce the pupil-teacher ratio in deprived areas (and in particular Bonnybrook primary and post-primary, Dublin) notify schools of his decision before the end of the school year so that teachers with established experience will not go on the panel.

Improvements in pupil-teacher ratios are generally introduced with effect from the commencement of a school year. Announcements in this regard are made as early as feasible before that date.
