The amounts spent by my Department on advertising including all local and national newspapers for each of the last three years are: 1979, £132.55; 1980, £179.58; 1981, £4,646.45.
The amounts spent by the Civil Service Commission during the same period are: 1979, £163,022; 1980, £200,885; 1981, £182,148.
