Vol. 336 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

492.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason for the delay in paying headage payments for 1981 and 1980 to a person (details supplied) in Dingle, County Kerry.

The person named was paid his 1981 sheep headage grant under the disadvantaged areas schemes on 23 September 1980, his 1980 cattle headage grant on 16 December 1980 and his 1980 ewe premium on 9 March 1980. He was paid his 1981 sheep headage grant on 4 December 1981. No applicant may receive in the form of cattle and sheep headage payments combined under the disadvantaged areas schemes more than the equivalent of £18.00 per acre. As the person named had only 97 acres, he was paid £1,746 (97 acres×£18) and could not be paid any more on foot of his sheep and cattle headage scheme applications for 1981.

493.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a grant under the farm modernisation scheme will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Dunmore, County Kilkenny, for a silage pit and slatted houses which has been passed for several months.

The grant will be paid shortly.
