Written Answers. - South Tipperary Farming Aids.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will give detailed particulars of the farming aids that apply in the Slieve Felim area of South Tipperary, consequent on its designation as a disadvantaged area.

The particulars requested are as follows: (a) Cattle headage payments; (b) Sheep headage payments; (c) thirty per cent grants to farm groups for purchase of machinery for fodder production; (d) A reduction in the milk co-responsibility levy.

In addition development farmers participating in the farm modernisation scheme in this area are eligible for: (a) an additional 5 per cent for land improvement; (b) an additional 10 per cent grant for farm structures and; (c) grants of up to 40 per cent of the cost for approved imvestments on the farm in tourist or craft projects.
