The figures requested by the Deputy for Ireland are as follows: 1980, 42.8%; 1981, 53.5%; 1982 (31 March), 49.2%. The 1982 figure is based on the estimated figure for GNP this year and all three figures take into account non-resident holdings of Government gilt-edged stock. Equivalent information for the other EEC countries is not readily available.
