Vol. 336 No. 6

Written Answers. - Coastline Wrecks Removal.

476.

asked the Minister for Transport if, in view of the difficulty being experienced by his Department in removing wrecks from the coastline, he will consider the introduction of legislation which will give his Department the necessary powers to have this problem dealt with more expeditiously in view of the damage being caused by such wrecks.

Certain powers are open to the receiver of wrecks under present legislation in relation to the disposal of wrecks. To the extent that these powers may not always be adequate, I am examining the question of whether the enactment of additional legislative provisions is necessary.
