Vol. 336 No. 7

Written Answers. - Attack on Women.

561.

asked the Minister for Justice whether any progress has been made in apprehending those involved in an attack upon two ladies in Dublin city centre (details supplied) on 1 May 1982.

Even if it were appropriate to do so, it would be impracticable for me to undertake to furnish reports to the House about the progress of individual Garda investigations having regard to the number and variety of such investigations and the changing situations that occur. In any event, until such time as the Garda are in a position to bring criminal charges in a particular case, any attempt to assess the value of information obtained as a result of their inquiries would serve no useful purpose.
