An application for capital grant assistance towards the provision of a synthetic athletics track in Galway city was made by Galway County Board BLE under the community, youth, recreational and employment programme. This application was not among the list of projects selected by my predecessor as Minister of State for the purpose of the allocation of funds made available for capital grant assistance from the Employment Guarantee Fund.
