Vol. 336 No. 7

Written Answers. - Army Barracks.

529.

asked the Minister for Defence when the next phase of development at Gormanston Camp will commence; when building will commence in Cavan town to replace the existing barracks; and whether the building of Monaghan Barracks was completed to his Department's satisfaction.

Arrangements will be made to have further building work carried out at Gormanston Camp as soon as the necessary financial resources are available.

Difficulties have been encountered regarding a site for the proposed new military post at Cavan. It is hoped to reach finality in this matter at an early date. Arrangements for building will then be made as soon as the necessary planning has been completed.

The military barracks at Monaghan has been completed satisfactorily except for certain defects which have been remedied.
