Farm Modernisation Scheme:
A provision of £33 million is made in the Department's Estimates for 1982 for the payment of grants under the terms of the Farm Modernisation Scheme. This provision, which relates to the country as a whole, represents the total amount of grants under the scheme likely to mature for payment in 1982.
As the grants are payable only on the completion of approved works to the required specification and as any such works carried out in County Galway in 1982 could relate not only to schemes approved in 1982, but also to schemes approved at any time during the past few years, it would not be possible to supply the information sought.
