asked the Minister for Finance when workers who are employed each summer on river drainage maintenance will be employed this year; and if there will be any change in the number employed in any county.

Workers for drainage maintanance are being recruited at present. In order to reduce the burden on local authorities, who must repay the cost of this service, there will be some curtailment of recruitment in most catchment areas.
