Vol. 337 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

554.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reasons an application for a heating grant was disallowed in a case (details supplied) in Dublin 12.

Under the Housing Regulations, 1980, the latest date for the receipt of an application for a solid fuel grant was 1 February 1980. As the application in this case was not received until 10 March 1980 a grant cannot be paid. The applicant has been informed accordingly.

555.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reasons an application for a house improvement grant was disallowed in a case (details supplied) in Dublin 12.

A grant cannot be allowed in this case because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, the work had commenced before an inspection of the house was carried out. The applicant was so informed on 19 May 1982.

556.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a reconstruction grant under the old scheme will be paid to a person (details supplied) in St. Luke's, Cork.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.

557.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he proposes to pay an additional grant which a person (details supplied) in Ardrahan, County Galway claims he is owed by his Department.

No further grant is payable in this case as the grants which were approved have been paid in full.

558.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his Department will pay a £1,000 new house grant to a person (details supplied) in Dromahair, County Leitrim.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and the other conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with.

559.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 new house grant which has been allocated to a person (details supplied) in Killinick, County Wexford will be paid; and the reason for the delay in paying this grant as the grant was first allocated to the person concerned in March 1981.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and the other conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with. As the file is with the inspector for early investigation and report, it is not possible to say what delay, if any, has occurred in processing the application.

560.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for the immediate payment of a £1,000 new house grant to a person (details supplied) in Tuam, County Galway.

The file is with the inspector for investigation and report with a view to the payment of a grant.
