Vol. 337 No. 4

Written Answers. - Management Advisory Committee.

593.

asked the Minister for Justice if his Department have yet established a management advisory committee in accordance with the recommendations of the Devlin Committee which were accepted by the Government in 1969; and if not, the reason.

The setting up of a formal Management Advisory Committee was recommended by the Devlin Review Group in the wider context of the Aireacht concept. The Aireacht concept has so far been introduced into only a small number of Departments, not including mine.

Except in the context of the Aireacht concept, I see no good reason for the introduction of greater formality into the existing satisfactory arrangements for consultation among senior officers of my Department.
