asked the Minister for the Public Service if he will give details on the composition, purpose, date of appointment and frequency of meetings of each inter-departmental committee in which his Department are involved; and if the committees have produced or will produce a written report on their work.

The information requested of in respect of inter-departmental committees set up by my Department is as follows:

The Committee is chaired by a Deputy Secretary of the Department. The 14 other members include 12 senior officers from Government Departments and two persons from bodies in the private sector.

2Co-ordination of the Government's programme for the further decentralisation of Government offices

The Committee is chaired by the Minister for the Public Service and consists of representatives of the Departments of the Public Service, the Taoiseach, Finance, Environment and the Office of Public Works with representatives of other Departments attending as required.

In addition my Department are represented on a number of inter-departmental committees set up by other Government Departments, particulars of which will be given by the Ministers concerned.
