Vol. 337 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

811.

(Cavan-Monaghan) asked the Minister for the Environment if he will confirm that persons (details supplied) in County Cavan applied for a new house grant and mortgage interest subsidy about three months ago; the reason no acknowledgement was sent; if he will have this application processed as quickly as possible because the house has been completed and the applicants are living in it; and if he will make a statement in relation to the application.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a new house grant and mortgage subsidy from the persons named.

812.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 new house grant for a new house will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Clare as the final inspection was carried out.

The grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been completed and occupied. A final inspection has not been carried out to date but it will be as soon as possible.

813.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his Department will pay house improvement and water grants to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

Under the Housing Regulations, 1980 (as amended) the latest date for the completion of work and receipt in my Department of claims for payment was 30 June 1981. As this statutory requirement was not complied with in this case a grant cannot be paid.

814.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his Department will carry out an inspection for a house improvement grant for a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

An inspection with a view to the approval of a grant, if in order, will be carried out in this case as soon as possible.

815.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant and mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Athlone, County Roscommon.

The grant will be paid shortly. Payment of the mortgage subsidy cannot commence until at least six months have elapsed from the date of execution of the mortgage deed and the lending agency certifies that loan repayments due for that period have been paid.

816.

(Waterford) asked the Minister for the Environment when persons (details supplied) in Tycor, Waterford, will receive a new house grant as two inspections of the house have taken place but the grant remains unpaid.
