asked the Minister for the Environment if his Department will now pay a house improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

Under the Housing Regulations, 1980 (as amended) the latest date for completion of work and receipt in my Department of claims for payment was 30 June 1981. As this statutory requirement was not complied with in this case a grant cannot be paid.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his Department will now pay a reconstruction grant to a person (details supplied) in Drumkeerin, County Leitrim, who fulfilled all the conditions of the scheme.

Under the Housing Regulations, 1980 (as amended) the latest date for completion of work and receipt in my Department of claims for payment was 30 June 1981. As this statutory requirement was not complied with in this case a grant cannot be paid.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his Department will now pay a house improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in Mohill, County Leitrim; and, if not, the reason.

The Housing Regulations, 1980 require an applicant to establish that, on or before 21 January 1980, the works had commenced or that he had entered a contract to have the works carried out or that he had purchased the materials necessary for the execution of the works. This applicant was asked on 10 May 1981 and again on 30 September 1981 to furnish evidence that this requirement was complied with but to date no such evidence has been furnished.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his Department will now pay a £1,000 new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

When the applicant supplies the documentation and information requested by my Department, an inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of grant, if in order.
